BASIC RULES OF ABC COOKING STUDIO INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT


  1. Passport holders can apply for an overseas lesson through direct phone call to the destination country/ region or submit an overseas lesson request form on the website. Taiwan and Japan studios currently only accept booking through phone call. Please note that Taiwan studios accept the booking of overseas lesson from 1 January 2018 only.

  2. Lesson will be conducted in the local language of the destination country/ region

  3. Some countries/ regions may have different age limit for different courses. Please check with destination country/ region for age limit information.

  4. Passport holder is eligible for 1 complimentary regular lesson (Basic Course only) at each participating country/ region. This privilege is not transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash or its equivalent, neither can it be used in conjunction with any other promotions.

  5. An overseas lesson should be attended within 1 month from issued date and before passport expired.

  6. Request to extend the validity period of an overseas lesson will not be entertained.

  7. The passport validity period is determined by home country/ region.

  8. Passport holder must present his/her ABC Cooking Studio Membership Card when attending the lesson for verification purpose.

  9. Please keep the passport well and safe. There is no replacement for lost or damaged passport.

  10. The definition of a regular lesson may vary from time to time and between different countries/ regions. ABC Cooking Studio Worldwide Limited and all its subsidiaries reserve the final decision on what types of lessons are applicable to this privilege.

  11. ABC Cooking Studio Worldwide Limited and all its subsidiaries reserve the right to make any final decision in cases of disputes.

How do I apply for an overseas lesson?

Something to think about…

  1. Which is your destination country/ region?
    (Lesson will be conducted in local language of the destination country/ region)
  2. What course would you like to take?
    (Cake, Bread, Cooking)
  3. When would you be travelling?
    (The complimentary overseas lesson is valid for 1 month from issued date.)

Applying for an overseas lesson…

  1. Make a phone call directly to the destination country/ region’s studio or submit an overseas lesson request form.
    * Taiwan and Japan currently only accept phone call booking.
  2. Upon successful verification of your request, the destination country/ region will correspond with a confirmation email. This means you are now a temporary member of the destination country/ region. You will have to activate your account at the destination country/ region’s website.
  3. Upon successful account activation, login to view the schedule and book your overseas lesson. An overseas lesson should be attended before the lesson and passport expired.

  1. Buy your air ticket and get ready to fly! Don’t forget to pack your ABC Cooking Studio International Passport and Membership Card into your luggage.


What language will be conducted in an overseas lesson?

An overseas lesson will be conducted in the local language of the destination country/ region. You may refer to the table below.

  • What courses am I entitled to at the destination country/ region?

    Members with completed or active Cake, Bread, Cooking, or Wagashi Course in the home country/ region can attend 1 regular lesson (Basic Course only) in either Cake, Bread or Cooking Course respectively in the destination country/ region.
    For example:

    Member A had bought a Cooking Course in Singapore (home country/ region). Member A can only choose 1 regular lesson from the Cooking Course in Hong Kong (destination country/ region).

    Member B had bought Cake and Cooking Course in Singapore (home country/ region). Member B can choose either 1 regular lesson from the Cake or Cooking Course in Hong Kong (destination country/ region).

    Wagashi Course members can only attend a Cake lesson (Basic Course only) in the destination country/ region.

    For example:

    Member C had bought a Wagashi Course in Indonesia (home country/ region). Member C can only choose 1 regular lesson from the Cake Course in Singapore (destination country/ region).


    When is my overseas lesson expiry date?

    The overseas lesson expires in 1 month from the date of issue by the destination country.

    What if I did not receive any confirmation email after I submitted the overseas lesson request form?

    Do check your Spam Folder. Unfamiliar sender’s email may automatically be directed to this folder by your email setting.
    Or, the email address entered may be invalid. Do resubmit your request form and take note when entering email address.
    If problem persists, call the destination country/ region’s studio.


    What if my destination country/ region’s member account activation is unsuccessful?

    Do check your Spam Folder. Unfamiliar sender’s email may automatically be directed to this folder by your email setting.
    Or, the email address entered may be invalid. Do resubmit your request form and take note when entering email address.
    If problem persists, call the destination country/ region’s studio.


    Can I attend an overseas lesson without booking?

    No, walk-in or without booking will not be entertained.

    What should I do when attending an overseas lesson?

    Arrive 10 minutes before lesson starts.
    Bring along your ABC Cooking Studio International Passport and Membership Card for verification at the studio reception. Otherwise, you may not be allowed to attend the lesson.
    Apron and recipe (in local language of destination country/ region) will be provided.


    When is my passport expiry date?

    The passport expires in 2 years for members, from the date of issue.

    Will I be able to extend the validity of my passport?

    Effective 1 Aug 2024, requests to extend passport validity will no longer be accepted. However, members can opt to purchase and attend an a la carte lesson at the destination country, subjected to availability. For more information, please contact the respective Customer Service Team via email.

    What is the difference between lesson expiry date and passport expiry date?

    An overseas lesson is valid for 1 month from the date of issue upon successful verification of an overseas lesson request.
    A passport is valid for 2 years for members, from the date of issue upon sign up of courses at the home country/ region.
    An overseas lesson should be attended within 1 month from issued date and before passport expired.


    What if I terminate my course before expiry date of the passport?

    If you terminate all courses, the passport will be invalid upon submitting the Termination Form.
    ABC Cooking Studio Worldwide Limited and all its subsidiaries reserve the right to make any final decision in cases of disputes.


    What if my passport is lost or damaged?

    Each member will be issued with an ABC International Passport once. Please keep your passport well and safe. There is no replacement for lost or damaged passport.

    Can I still take complimentary lesson at the same destination country/ region after extending my passport?

    No.

    For example:
    Member has attended a complimentary lesson in Thailand in 2018. After the passport has expired, the member went to top up her course and the passport validity has been extended for another 2 years. Despite the extension of passport validity, her passport lesson history remained. Hence, the member will not be able to attend Thailand lesson for free anymore.


    Is short course eligible?

    Short course is not eligible for passport.

    Short course is...
    - a course that consists of less than 6 times of lessons (1 to 5 lessons)
    - offered in limited time sales period and lesson availability period
    - cannot be cancelled and non-refundable
    - validity period cannot be compounded into existing contract's validity period.

    Member A who registered for Bread Basic Course 8 times and Cake Short Course 3 times in Malaysia (home country/ region) is planning to visit Hong Kong (destination country/ region).
    Member A is eligible to choose a bread lesson but not a cake lesson in Hong Kong (destination country/ region).

    Member B who registered for Cake Basic 6 times in Hong Kong (home country/ region) wish to visit Malaysia (destination country/ region).
    Member B is eligible to choose a lesson from the cake regular course, but not a lesson from the cake short course in Malaysia.
